Conor Necessary

Age: 18 

Instruments: Lead Guitar, Vocals

Conor is one of the two vocalists and guitarists in Lizard Hammer. He plays an Epiphone SG and mainly uses blues and punk style guitar techniques when playing. He got his first guitar, a Rogue brand acoustic, for Christmas when he was 5, but he didn't start learning how to play it until he was 15. He borrowed his uncle's electric guitar, made by Washburn, until he got an Epiphone SG for Christmas in 2023. In early 2023, he tried starting a band with bassist Ben Robbins and guitarist Kaden "K-Dogg" Walter called The Chips, but it didn't last long. Conor and Ben later tried starting a rock duo called C&B, but that again failed. In September 2024, They revisited the idea of starting a band, this time including drummer Cayden Mattern. Conor has since been a prominent member of the band. 

Conor's favorite band is The Who, a British hard rock band from the 1960s and 1970s. His favorite guitarists include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Billy Gibbons, Johnny Ramone, Robby Krieger, Pete Townshend, and East Bay Ray. His favorite singers include Eric Burdon, Jim Morrison, Roger Daltrey, Syd Barrett, and Jerry Garcia.

Cayden Mattern

Age: 15

Instruments: Drums, Backup Vocals

Cayden is the drummer for Lizard Hammer. Cayden joined the band shortly after picking up the drums, joining in late September of 2024, only 3 months after picking up his first drumstick, eventually his bandmates saved up money for an acoustic drum set, which he still uses today. Cayden keeps his drum set simple, with 4 drums, a bass drum, and 4 cymbals, paired with a single kick pedal. Cayden has a strong heavy metal influence in his drumming, with fast playing, and technical fills.

Cayden comes from a heavy metal background with his first band he ever heard of being System of a Down. He shares a music taste with his brother, who introduced him to hard rock and metal. His favorite bands are Metallica, Primus, Nirvana, and Rage Against The Machine. Cayden has a wide range in music taste, from rap, to grunge, and 60's rock to modern metalcore. His favorite musicians are Les Claypool, Dave Grohl, Lars Ulrich, Vinnie Paul, and Mitch Mitchell.

Cayden plays Guitar, Bass, and Drums. He started guitar in June of 2024 and bass in October of 2024. Cayden's favorite instrument is bass, and has put many hours into the instrument. 

Benjamin Robbins

Age: 15

Instruments: Bass

Ben is the bassist for Lizard Hammer. He has two basses he uses in Lizard Hammer: a Rogue 5 String J-Bass and a Squire 4 String P-Bass. He picked up bass when he got one from his step-brother, but never really fully got interested until Lizard Hammer was formed. Ben had previously tried to form two bands before with Conor, being The Chips and C&B. He considers himself the band manager, as he manages things such as the band's social medias, website and music distribution. He is also a solo artist.

His influences mainly stage from rock, hip-hop, pop and nu-metal. His favorite bands are ITCHY, System of a Down, and Linkin Park. He also likes artists such as Eminem and Chappell Roan.

Ben plays alto saxophone outside of Lizard Hammer, and is starting to learn piano and tuba.
